Fab Four

I could blog for days on my sweet friends from college. We were given the name, Fab 4 and totally embraced it. The Lord was sweet to bring us together and keep us so close through the years. Our times since then have been hit or miss. Suzanne is in Shreveport with Alex (who was Matthew's roommate & we both started dating at the same time, fun story). They have Perry who is 3 weeks younger than Mary Stewart.

There is Lee & Brad with sweet baby James in Baton Rouge (Brad was my prom date junior year, just fun trivia for you). James is 8 months & precious.

Katharine (whom I have known since I was probably 5, we grew up just miles apart), Phelps & Ella (14 months) live in Charlotte, NC (we think Ella & Mary Stewart would make great freshman roomates at LSU!).

After several emails and lots of spontinatiy, the fab 4 and the babies reunited over winter break. Matthew's parents graciously let us use Camp D & it was perfect. Matthew kept asking what we were going to do? Were we going to get bored? I reminded him that we girls love to sit in our pj's, and talk and talk and talk all day long. In my mind it was perfect. The children played.

We talked and talked and ate and ate!
I was curious to see how things would go. I mean it has been 5 plus years and we in many ways are different people than we were then. It seemed as though time had stood still. Our time together was sweet, natural, refreshing and I was reminded we really haven't changed, are personalities are still the same.
Since the 8 of us never got out of the house at the same time, our picture opportunities were limited. We managed to get 1 picture of all of us, in our pj's none the less!

Thank you girls for the effort you made to get to North Georgia. Papa & Dee Dee thank you for the blessing that your home is!

(Mary Stewart says come back soon!)
I pray it's not another 5 years until we are together!

An Accessory Filled Valentines!

Mary Stewart must have sent out a memo saying she was in desperate need of accessories because her Valentines came through!
Who doesn't love hats with bows & sunglasses!

Let's not forget tu tu's either!

Did I mention tiara's too?
But my favorite was getting to wake up to the loves of my life...

I wish you could see how cute her valentine birdie shirt is!
This picture truly captures Mary Stewart......

I'm pretty sure asked Curious George to be her Valentine!
We hope your Valentines was filled with all things wonderful (tu tu's, glasses, hats & whatever warms your heart)!
Happy Valentines Day!!!

A Sweet Sunday Afternoon

I hate that I haven't been blogging more! There are tons of excuses & to feel justified in my abscence I'll play the preggo card, or blame it on working or that my computer is out of hard drive space & I can't upload any pics or videos.....
Back to our sweet Sunday afternoon. It went a little like this: church and a little gumbo, then a little nap & snuggling on the couch with Mary Stewart & Matthew (& curious George, our favorite show). The weather was wonderful so we went for a walk!

Mary Stewart LOVES being outside. I can't wait for spring! We needed a sweet snack so I made cupcakes.

Mary Stewart approved! Matthew went on to ice the rest!

Notice the heart shaped plain cupcakes for Mary Stewart? My attempt to be cutesy. Speaking of cutesy did you see the peppermint patties Darby made? Some of you know exactly who I'm talking about but if you don't check out her blog:

It's on the agenda to make this week!
Cheers to sweet Sunday afternoons!

15 Months & Going.....

Well it's really more like a 15 and a half month update on Sweet Mary Stewart!
We were supposed to have our check up last week but due to the ice it's been moved to next week.... I do think she is weighing in around 27 pounds!
The past few months have been so fun and full of adventures!

She enjoyed her first pony ride at 13 months!
Mary Stewart continues to LOVE books! She particularly loves any with animals! I love to listen to her "read" as we drive down the road!

At 14 months, Maggie Dog came upstairs to live with us!

Mary Stewart has very much enjoyed our new addition! I think Mary Stewart is growing on Maggie too!

We have become insistent on feeding ourself! This has taught me patience and that it's ok to change clothes several times a day! It's crazy to think she is beginning to show some independence.

Hair!!! Mary Stewart's hair is finally growing! Here are some of her latest styles!

Pigtails!!!!

Taking after Pebbles!
Right now I'm trying to figure out this recent crying at nap & bedtime! This isn't like Mary Stewart at all! Usually you grab a pie & a lovey and are catching the zzzz's. I am hoping this is a phase that fizzles quickly! Hearing you cry in some ways now is so much harder than when you were little!
We are having so much fun watching Mary Stewart grow!
I am constantly in awe of what a sweet privilege it is to be a mom!

Snowmageddon!

Well if you have watched any news lately you know Atlanta is under a blanket of snow & ice! I would not want to EVER live anywhere, where snow and ice are a common occurrence, but will take the excitement a few times a year.
On Sunday Mary Stewart & I decided to stay in North Georgia with Matthew's parents to increase our chances of a definite snow in! In anticipation of snow on Sunday I searched for "snow gear" for Mary Stewart: pants, boots, mittens. I had no such luck. It seems toddler snow gear is a rare commodity.
We woke Monday morning to no less than 6 inches of fluffy white powder! Mary Stewart LOVED being pulled on her sled by PaPa. Each time I tried to take her off, she cried! She would cry out "Weeee!" every time the sled took off! If her sled was stopped for a moment for a photo opportunity or for us grownups to catch our breaths, Mary Stewart would bounce up and down as if to say, let's geaux!!!

Mary Stewart with her "chaufers" Dee Dee & Papa!

I'm not sure who loved the snow more Mary Stewart or Maggie?

It was so fun to watch Maggie romp through the snow! She snoozed by the fire for the rest of the day!
Today is day 2 of being snowed in, and it looks like it may be all week! Good thing we are well stocked on firewood, popcorn, hot chocolate, movies and books!

Stay warm!!
